Hello! & Welcome to Munch, a place where snacking isn't shunned, but encouraged

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Whitney, I am 25 years old, and for as long as I can remember I have been a snackaholic. I was always that girl hoarding the chip bowl at every birthday party (and still kinda am). As a professional ballet dancer who has been in the ballet world her entire life, this habit was often times frowned upon. You see, I've always loved to cook (I get it from my Dad), but it took me a minute to figure out what foods worked the best for my long, grueling days. I became a vegetarian 7 years ago and never really looked back as plant-based foods digest better for me and tend to give me the most energy for my dancing. However, the past 7 years have taught me a lot about how to truly cook tasty food that is good for my body, but also good for my soul.

Long story short, I'm passionate about snacks. Not just any snacks, but healthy snacks. Snacks that give me energy but also taste truly delicious, not ehh-this-is-okay-but-tastes-kinda-like-grass-delicious. So much so that a few years ago, my brother coined the nickname Munch since I was always in the pantry trying to find something to satisfy my cravings.

I decided to turn this nickname into a blog, not only because my family was pushing me to do so (they have seen how excited new seasonal items at Trader Joe's get me), but also to share the knowledge I've learned the hard way. Food can be such a tool for health and wellness, but life is about balance. Sometimes you just need a cookie.

So, let's get Munching, shall we?

Bon Appétit,

Munch.
